Sage technology platforms enable good ideas to spread quickly
Sage’s mission is not only to do great research, but to make sure that great research practices become widely accessible. Our technology team invests in the development of tools that allow researchers to quickly apply scientific data, analysis techniques, and ideas to new projects.
Synapse is a platform for supporting scientific collaborations centered around shared biomedical data sets. Our goal is to make biomedical research more transparent, more reproducible, and more accessible to a broader audience of scientists. Synapse serves as the host site for a variety of scientific collaborations, individual research projects, and DREAM challenges. For more information, visit Synapse.org.
Bridge is a set of web services designed to support biomedical research studies conducted though smartphone interfaces. Services support mobile registration and consent to participate in research studies, the design and scheduling of surveys and mobile sensor-driven activities, and the receipt of sensor and survey data from mobile sources. Bridge provides a secure, compliant service that can accelerate the development and deployment of mobile apps in studies of human health. After the Bridge server receives study data from participants’ iPhones, the data is de-identified and coded and then hosted in Sage Bionetworks’ Synapse platform, a collaborative data science environment where research groups can work with the data. Software developers should check out our Bridge developer’s portal for documentation and links to code repositories.
